Start small and improves after
Have you ever heard the phrase "You have to start somewhere"?
It's a common saying, but have you ever thought that starting small can actually lead to better results?
Contrary to popular belief, starting small can actually lead to greater success.
By starting with small projects or tasks, you have the opportunity to gain experience, build confidence and develop your skills.
Before I understood this and incorporated it as the best way forward I always made this mistake:
I had an idea.
I was doing a business plan for a $1 million company.
I was going to pay a designer for my logo.
I was going to pay a developer for my website.
But I had no customers.
If I was doing this, it was only because I wanted to catch up with the others.
The ones who show their beautiful results.
Conventional wisdom says that bigger is better, but this is not always the case.
In many cases, starting small allows us to take the time to do things right, to experiment, and make mistakes without the pressure of a big project.
It also allows you to gain momentum, and popularity and develop your unique voice, which can be invaluable when it comes time to tackle larger projects.
I experienced this firsthand when I created my Twitter account.
I didn't compare myself to others.
I just went step by step.
This mistake is the same when you create content or when you become a solopreneur.
In conclusion, starting small is a powerful way to see your progress day after day without getting frustrated.
And I use my experience to build Builday.
🔥 My hack: One step at a time without looking around
The perfect tips to start small
Don't learn the code, understand the no code.
No code is the best way to start small.
You can create applications quickly with Glide, just by using a google sheet.
You can easily create a landing page with Caard without being confused by a multitude of features.
The no code constraint of its tools is perfect to start small, test quickly and make your product evolve.
And especially to find your first customers
Build in public time
I announced that I would build 12 micro startups and 12 micro products.
The goal, earn $2,000/month automatically by December 31, 2023
I have already launched a micro startup, this newsletter:
Income: $100
The second will be my first micro saas Builday which will allow me to create the content of the build in public of other micro startups:
MVP Advancement: 99%
I have made very little progress on Builday.
I'm currently working with a team on a project connecting freelance and startup.
This week has been mostly dedicated to this project.
But I got many ideas for future micro startups.
Otherwise, I had a hard time with the Twitter API which is now paying.
But still, something happened on Builday.
🔥 It will be possible to turn a tweet or short content into long content and post it directly to LinkedIn.
Sorry, the post is in French ;-)
Perfect if you want to improve your French.
The idea of the week
💡 Idea: The only fan of content entrepreneurs
❌ Problem: Content entrepreneurs have a hard time monetizing their audience
🚀 Solution: Offer premium content with more value to their paying subscribers
If you think this idea has potential.
Don't hesitate to send me an email.
More to come soon ;-)
🧢 And enjoy your week, builder
Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this week's edition! Happy to be part of this great network of marketers!
